Edgewater's Shermane Teart chooses Troy

E-mail
Written by Buddy Collings

Shermane Teart, a two-way lineman for Edgewater (0-2) has orally committed to sign with Troy University of Alabama on National Signing Day in February.

He becomes the third Eagles senior to choose a major college, joining defensive backs Mike Jones (Michigan) and Henry Wright (UCF).

Teart, a 6-2, 250-pound senior, started on the defensive line as a junior but has done double-duty as a blocker this season for a much younger Edgewater team.

"Great student. probably going to be an early entry (to Troy in January)," Bill Gierke, Edgewater's coach, said of Teart.
