And at the top . . . is Seminole High.
Not surprisingly, Florida's newest Class 6A state champion stands at the top of the season-ending Laz Index ratings.
Rallying from a 14-point second half deficit to beat Miami Northwestern 28-21 in Saturday's 6A final at the Florida Citrus Bowl, the Seminoles (13-2) clinched the top ratings spot. In that, too, it was a rally. The Seminoles started the season No. 18 in the Laz Index.

Now things get interesting. Rematches are on the way, and regular-season outcomes not only don't mean anything as far as the state playoffs, but the first-game loser has a bit more in the emotional tank for the second game.
Which brings us to the second round of the FHSAA playoffs and possible winners and losers.
According to the Laz Index, Boone is going bye-bye. So is Spruce Creek. And East Ridge, a district champion.
And that's just the Class 6A lineup for Friday night.
