Cornelius Whitehead, the Mount Dora Bible star who orally committed to UCF in March, has switched to nearby Mount Dora High School going into his senior season. Lonnie Johnson, MDB’s coach, and Chad Grabowski, Mount Dora’s new coach, have both confirmed the move. Grabowski said Whitehead has completed the necessary paperwork and will join the Hurricanes’ offseason program Monday. Mount Dora starts play in a 7-on-7 league at Apopka this Wednesday and expects Whitehead to be participating next week in the summer passing competition. Whitehead, a 6-1, 172-pound rising senior, rushed for over 700 yards as a junior for Class 1B Mount Dora Bible. But he is projected as a wide receiver for UCF. Grabowski said Whitehead will play receiver and safety for Class 2B Mount Dora.
