Winter Park at East Ridge, 7:30

WHERE: The Dungeon, 13322 Excalibur Dr., Clermont

BUZZ: This is a Class 6A first-round playoff game. Since moving up to 6A, the state’s big-school classification, four years ago, East Ridge (9-1) has reached the state playoffs every year and is working on a current streak of six years in a row. That’s not bad for a school in its seventh year of existence. Winter Park (6-4) is in the state playoffs for the first time since 2005, when the Wildcats reached the 6A state semifinal to Palm Beach Gardens.. Each team faced Ocoee and Apopka during the regular season. Winter Park beat Ocoee 17-0 and lost to Apopka 27-14. East Ridge beat Ocoee 29-27 and Apopka 21-13. East Ridge RB Jeremy Wright leads Central Florida with 2,349 yards rushing and 23 TDs. O ther top Knights include QB Tyler DyeÖ (51-94-6 for 799 yards, six TDs; 238 yards rushing); RB Jarius Pace (468 yards rushing, three TDs); and WR Jesse Arnold (30 catches, 638 yards).

Jacksonville Ribault at South Sumter, 7:30

WHERE: Raiders Field, 706 N. Main St., Bushnell

BUZZ: This is a 2A first-round playoff game. This is South Sumter’s 12th consecutive year in the state playoffs. Ribault is making its first playoff appearance since 2002. Ribault (6-4) has not won a playoff game since 1994. South Sumter (9-1) is led by QB Denzel Smith (65-123-3 for 1,035 yards, 17 TDs, also 345 yards rushing, three TDs); WR Pat Mobley (31 catches, 425 yards, three TDs); WR J.R. Finkley (18 catches, 340 yards, seven TDs); RB Colt Wells (14 catches, 277 yards, five TDs); RB Tharman Price-McMiller (630 yards rushing, three TDs); RB Cashin Irving (516 yards rushing, seven TDs); and RB Ryan Evans (558 yards rushing, seven TDs).

Sarasota Cardinal Mooney at Wildwood, 7:30

WHERE: Wildcats Field, 700 Huey St., Wildwood

BUZZ: This is a Class 2B first-round playoff game. Cardinal Mooney (7-3) is making its third playoff appearance in the past four years, and Wildwood (9-1) has been involved in the playoffs five times in the past six years. This is the first Wildwood team that has posted a 9-1 regular season record since 1986, but the Wildcats lost a first-round playoff game that year. In fact, the last time Wildwood advanced beyond the first round of the playoff was in 1999.
