Visiting Edgewater defeated Boone 7-0 Wednesday night in a Pink and White spring football game that was shortened to one half due to inclement weather at Norton Baker Field.

Edgewater’s Kent Gainous rushed for 46 yards on seven carries and scored the game’s only touchdown on a five-yard scamper with 6:52 remaining in the first quarter.

Boone athletic director Doug Patterson said the game raised an estimated $15,000 for breast-cancer research and drew an announced crowd of 2,500.
