You want to play Florida High School Athletic Association? Here are some new numbers to play with - updated enrollment counts from October, 2008. Those are the numbers the FHSAA is using as its maps out new district alignments for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. This is a list of where Central Florida public schools fall, based on tentative cutoffs for each classification the FHSAA announced in November. Remember, the FHSAA goal is to create 9-team districts in the upper four classifications (3A, 4A, 5A, 6A). The top four teams in each district will advance to the playoffs in the new format. Note that the numbers, culled from Department of Education figures, do not include private schools. ORANGE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Class 5A (2100 to 2481 students) Class 4A (1801 to 2099 students) Class 2A (961 to 1403 students) OSCEOLA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Class 4A (1801 to 2099 students) Class 3A (1404 to 1800 students) SEMINOLE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Class 5A (2100 to 2481 students) Class 4A (1801 to 2099 students) Note: Speculation is that Oviedo will request to play up to 5A. VOLUSIA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Class 5A (2100 to 2481 students) Class 4A (1801 to 2099 students) Class 3A (1404 to 1800 students) Class 2A (961 to 1403 students) Class 1A (289 to 546 students) LAKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Class 5A (2100 to 2481 students) Class 3A (1404 to 1800 students) Class 2A (961 to 1403 students) Class 2B (547 to 960 students) SUMTER COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Class 1A (289 to 546 students) OTHER SCHOOLS OF INTEREST Class 6A (2482 or more students) Class 5A (2100 to 2481 students) Class 4A (1801 to 2099 students)) Class 3A (1404 to 1800 students) From Citrus County
