With 8:05 left in the second quarter and Dr. Phillips leading 14-3, the Dr. Phillips vs Timber Creek game was called due to bad weather. Dr. Phillips got on the board first on their second offensive possession. A 15 yard run by Marvin Ford put the Panthers in good field position. Dr. Phillips QB Robert Matey found Kenny Shaw crossing the middle and Shaw would do the rest. Shaw made the corner miss for a 35 yard touchdown reception to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead. Timber Creek would respond on their next possesion with a 65 yard drive that was aided by a roughing the quarterback and a pass interference call. However, they would have to settle for a 32 yard field goal by Josh Lacy making the score 7-3. Junior RB Dee Hart would give us a glimpse of what we saw last year. Hart took the toss to the left, made two Wolve defenders miss, and raced 65 yards to the endzone. The extra point would give the Panthers a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter. Timber Creek would fumble on their next possession setting up the Panthers with first and ten on the Wolves 40 yard line. Matey would find Shaw again for an apparent 40 yard touchdown reception but it was called back due to a holding penalty. That would be the last play of the night as the bad weather rolled in. The game will not be finished as both schools have finals and graduation this week.
