Three regular season county records were broken Friday, as three of the area's best players finished the year with strong performances. Winter Springs running back Al-Terek McBurse rushed for 240 yards against Lake Howell Friday to bring his season total to 2,234 yards topping the Seminole County regular season rushing record (2,228) set by Lake Howell's Marquette Smith in 1990 by just six yards. McBurse also finished the season with 20 rushing touchdowns. Oviedo quarterback Blake Bortles threw for 257 yards Friday against Osceola, bringing his season total to 2,472 yards breaking the Seminole County regular season passing record set by Lake Mary's Sean Connolly in 2006. Bortles threw for 23 touchdowns this season. In Osceola County, St. Cloud's EJ White threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns Friday against Celebration. White finishes the regular season with 2,344 yards, breaking the Osceola County regular season passing record (2,293) set by Poinciana's David Tabor in 1999. EJ finished the regular season with 21 touchdown passes.
